Our Mission

For the Horne Family there are two primary motivations for philanthropic giving: First, because everything is a gift from God, each person is responsible to use God's gifts appropriately. Second, giving brings joy by deepening connection and understanding. This is not a one-generation legacy but a multi-generational legacy, We are trying to help build this great kingdom and bless each others lives, and sharing in our abundance provides a way for our family to help more and more people for many years to come."

Our Vision

We embrace the concept of “active philanthropy,” viewing our involvement as much more than just writing checks to grantees. Instead, we look for strategic nonprofit partners in our communities. In addition to our financial contributions, we take leadership roles in local organizations, donate countless hours and recruit the resources of our clients, vendors, brokers and others, to help meet the many needs in our communities.

It is the drive, passion, intelligence, and integrity of our family members and employees that make this a great place to do great work. Our team of passionate, dedicated, and talented individuals go above and beyond for our clients, our communities, and each other—every day. We believe in creating an environment where everyone is empowered to do their best work, surrounded by the best team possible.

Driven by a Shared Passion

As a vital part of our family culture, the family and employees of The Horne Companies, volunteer thousands of hours for community organizations. Whether taking part in charity walks, collecting canned food goods and sponsoring community-wide days of service, members have ongoing opportunities to serve those in need, and they never fail to turn out in great numbers. We realize that our team members are our greatest asset.

Your donation makes it possible for hundreds of children to have more than 20,000 nights of safe shelter, ensures potential foster and adoptive parents will have the best preparation and highest quality support, and guarantees that children from low-income families will have access to crucial early education services. The hope your donation represents and the successes it will create for children and families inspire us never to stop working towards our vision." - Torrie A Taj, CEO Child Crisis Arizona

"Thank you for your generous contribution. It's because of the support of freedom lovers like you that Goldwater has been able to secure over 300 upsets for liberty over the past 30 years - and changed the way Americans think about school choice, the Right to Try, and countless other constitutionally protected freedoms along the way. As we continue our work to defend and strengthen liberty, were going to keep on fighting for the "little guy" -- for young students and elderly patients, for small business owners and entrepreneurs. Thanks to you, the little guy stands a chance against big government. - Victor Riches, President and CEO Goldwater Institute

"You will be pleased to know that the funds you so graciously donated were used for scholarships to help financially challenged students across the campus. We are always moved when we learn that a scholarship has allowed students to avoid dropping out during senior year and receive the diploma they've been working toward for a significant portion of their lives. Your generosity also made it possible for students to have mentoring professors on advanced research projects. Having one of these mentored learning experiences on a resume is a tremendous plus when students apply for graduate school or when interviewing for a job. Again thank you for your support!" - Tanise Chung-Hoon, LDS Philanthropies BYU

Your generosity brings to mind what Winston Churchill appropriately said: "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." We hope you realize that in giving so generously to BYU, you have helped build many lives. It's impossible to know the influence for good you have been and will be to future generations as our students graduate and "go forth to serve" their families, communities and nations. " - Cecil O. Samuelson, President BYU
